WWII The European Theatre
World War II was one of the defining events of the twentieth century. This course explores the military, political, social and cultural dimensions of the war in Europe, North Africa and the USSR. Topics and themes include: Hitler’s war aims; the uses of propaganda; civilian mobilization and "total" war; the Holocaust and the Nazi state; the war of annihilation on the Eastern Front; and the collaboration and resistance of civilians under Nazi occupation.
